week3

The tremendous change of Britney Spears may terrify many of her fans and the public, but I think it’s not totally her fault. Of course she should never transform her emptiness and painfulness into drugs and alcohol abuse. However, when she became a superstar, she was still very young and innocent. She tasted the sweetness of success first rather than realize the cruelty of the reality. As a celebrity who became successful in her early age, she was protected so well that she couldn’t face difficulties and frustration on her own. I think that’s the major reason of the overwhelming change after her divorce. Besides, those drugs and alcohol also amplified her painfulness and made her be obsessed with the vicious circle. Although the alcohol and depression did pose a threat to her, her ignorance and innocence are the main reason of her weakness.

If I were her best friend or family, I thought I couldn’t make the judgment to the whole thing objectively and I would put all the blame on her ex-husband, Kevin. Also, if I were her friend or family, I would feel much more helpless because I knew no one can help her but herself.

I was Britney's fan when she just released her first and second album. She was my idol and I was crazy about her songs , performances, and everything about her which of course included her private life. Britney Spears' sudden change really scared me because she became a totally different person and being out of control like the way she talked, dressed, and everything she did. Everyday when I read newspapers, I always could see some of her embarrassed pictures were posted in big paragraph. I was disappointed because she was no longer like my goddess, the star who used to shine on stage. Maybe I can understand why she got lost, while people like celebrities who easily afford and possess everything they want by their money or fame, they can hardly bear if there is still shit happened to them. Since celebrities always live under a high-pressure environment and chase after from lots of medias, their mind become fragile and easy to break down. When these people earn money so easily, they start to confuse about their belief and the thing they worth to live and fight for.
Britney's case is only an example in Hollywood, just like what you said that "as a celebrity who became successful in her early age. She tasted sweetness first rather than realize the cruelty of reality." I think it's totally accurate for explaining Britney's change.
Since I was Britney's big fan, if I had chance to be her friend or family, I would definitely stand at her side and provide everything she needs me to do for her. I wised I could be the one who always stay as her backup to give her strength to conquer the difficulties. Further I must remind her not to get addict to drugs or alcohol because there is no advantages by taking them but damage her health and career.

Yes, as you said” When these people earn money so easily, they start to confuse about their belief and the thing they worth to live and fight for. “Most celebrities can not resist the material and luxurious life after making big money. They tend to be devoured by many extravagances in order to make themselves feel less empty. Also, living without private space may drive them crazy. The celebrities can not lead a normal life and have to expose their privacy to the public. I think the price of being a celebrity is rather big and only few people can conquer those pressures and become successful.
