week5

1. The picture is about the sequences and the methods of group learning. First of all, they start with posing questions. And then they have some brainstorm and peer discussion. Finally, they make conclusion and maybe they will do further presentation. The feedback of their performance can be the points of their introspection and the motivation of making improvement.
2. My favorite part of collaborative learning is” generating multiple perspectives”. Through this process, many innovative ideas will be inspired and it can make the group member closer. While expressing our own thoughts, we can feel a sense of ac achievement. At the same time, we can broaden our mind through learning and accepting other’s opinions.
3. I think the most difficult part of group learning is “making informed decision.” It’s hard for all the group members being in tune with one another since not everyone is tolerant enough. When everyone all want to have their idea be adopted, there is a hard time to make conclusion. Especially, some group members tend to be dominative and then control the whole group. Thus, some thoughts may be buried.
4. When I was in senior high school, we have a team for a presentation about classical Chinese literature. During the process of brainstorming and concluding, we did meet a lot of difficulties and have some quarrels. However, we learned from these discord and the group members’ opinions became my experiences.

1. The picture is the major process of an effective group learning. it begins with stating questions and topics from a learning team. After deciding topics, they start their discussions and collect multiple opinions from each others words. They may present a conclusion or result to the question afterwards and which only based on their group members' ideas. A careful assessment may come up after their conclusion-sharing to make sure what they have said is correct or not.
2. My favorite part in this process is also the same with you that the "generating multiple perspectives" part. From a group discussion, the most interesting and meaningful thing is the new sparks from the opinions sharing. I'd like to hear my group members have different thoughts toward this issue and we can debate and also learn from each others point of views.
3. From a successful group learning, the most difficult part for me is also "generating multiple perspectives" . Because all the group members not only have to tell people their ideas from an organized thinking, they also have to try to cooperate and coordinate with others sometimes. It's hard for some people to accept others opinions and admit themselves may sometimes probably give incorrect concepts or ideas.
4. In our English department, the all English majors have to do lots of group presentations and we all need to follow the process of effective group learning to our discussion. Generating perspectives is always difficult because some people just have zero ideas to this topic and they don't really want to talk. Otherwise, some of them may be very stubborn and arrogant that they don't listen to others but insist their opinions very much. Since every person come from different background with separated personality, it's always an important lesson on remaining group collaboration and coordination to avoid conflicts and misunderstandings.

Students who engage in group learning from early age can be mentally inspired. The group collaboration can stimulate their interest, consensus decision-making, cooperative learning, and critical thinking. Also, it can increase students’ abilities for locating, gathering, and synthesizing diverse perspectives. The collaborative group can refer to the small reflection of social life. Students work together, help one another and gain from the whole organization. These can be so call a kind of “social skill”.
